Carlsberg don’t do SEO but if they did they would probably sponsor Sick Submitter. Now you must realize that every website on the net is different in the way a marketing approach can and should be taken on it. By marketing I mean by what kind of backlinks you build to that site, how many you build how often. A lot of webmasters are always tempted to blast hundreds or thousands of links to their homepage and then often find they get dropped from their current SERP positions to almost being de-indexed completely. Although the theory is correct; those with more backlinks will almost always be the website that comes up first. I’ve found that building more backlinks than you need to almost always does more harm than good. But only more so on very new sites.

Link Diversity is where you have a mixture of many different types of backlinks built to a website already. These could be article backlinks from article marketing, social bookmarks and link directories for submitting homepage and inner pages and or Web 2.0 sites like Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, WordPress, YouTube etc etc. You do not want to miss any links from any of the top Web 2.0 sites these days. Not only can they bring you direct targeted traffic but the authority these sites pass down to yours will help build up your sites PR and domain authority. Domain Authority happens more over time. A domain that has authority is usually a domain that is several years old or has many different types of backlinks or backlinks from lots of similar related niche sites.
